Signing in with a passkey is now available

What we announced earlier is ready: you can now sign in with a passkey. No more typing a password — you sign in with the fingerprint, face recognition or PIN of your own device.

What is a passkey?

A passkey is a digital key kept safely on your smartphone, laptop or hardware key. When you sign in, your device proves who you are, without a password ever travelling across the internet.

What does this mean for you?

  • No more typing a password — nothing to remember, forget or reuse
  • Phishing-resistant — a passkey only works on the real website, never on a fake one
  • Faster sign-in — one tap or glance and you are in, on your smartphone too
  • No extra code — you have already unlocked your device, so the code from your authenticator app is dropped when you sign in with a passkey
  • Your key stays yours — the passkey does not leave your device

How to create one

In the customer portal, go to Login & security and choose Add passkey. Your device asks for your fingerprint, face or PIN, and that is it. You can create several — one on your laptop and one on your phone, for instance — up to ten. Lost or sold a device? Remove that one key in the same settings; the others keep working.

Your password stays

A passkey comes alongside your password, not instead of it. If the device holding your passkey breaks, you still get in with your password — and we keep recommending two-step verification for as long as you use that password.

Signing in happens on our central login page, the same one for all our services. So a single passkey is enough: wherever you come in, you use the same key.
