JAAN bv is a Belgian IT company from Zelzate that has been building custom software since 2000: web applications, iOS and Android mobile apps, websites and API integrations between existing systems — batch or real time, for SMEs and organizations. Analysis, development, hosting and maintenance are handled by a single in-house team, on the same infrastructure that runs our own platforms SMSBOX (SMS), WWW4 (hosting) and 2Mail (email).

Custom software is not always the right answer. If an existing package covers your process well enough, we will say so — sometimes an integration between two existing packages is the cheapest solution.
How a custom software project runs
Whether it is software, an app or a website: the steps are the same. You see working versions along the way, so you can steer before something is finished rather than after.
Analysis of your process
We start from how the work actually runs today, not from a list of features. Who does what, where is time lost, which systems are already in place? That determines the scope of the project — and therefore the price.
Proposal with approach and price
You get a proposal that states what we build, what is not included and what it costs. Arrangements on ownership and source code are already recorded in writing at this stage.
Building in stages
We develop in stages with interim deliveries. At every delivery you test for yourself what is there, and we adjust where needed.
Connect, test and deliver
The application is connected to your existing systems, tested with real data and put into use. Hosting is possible on our own servers in Belgium.
Maintenance and further development
Software nobody keeps up becomes outdated. That is why we agree maintenance, response times and further extensions in advance, so you know where you stand when your process changes.
What you want to know up front
Who owns the software?
You do, if that is what has been agreed — and we make that agreement before we start, on paper. With custom software, ownership and source code are not a detail: they determine whether you are free to change partners later.
Who keeps it running?
We do, unless you would rather do it yourself. Security updates, adjustments for new browser or device versions and small changes fall under a maintenance agreement with clear response times.
Where does it run?
On our own infrastructure in Belgium if you wish: the same servers that run our own platforms. One point of contact for the software and the server it runs on.

Where we work
Our office is in Zelzate, in East Flanders, between Ghent and the Dutch border. We work for SMEs and organizations throughout Belgium: meetings can take place at your premises, at our office or online. Development and support are handled by our own team, in Dutch, French and English.
